Crumb is reimagining last-mile food delivery for college campuses. Through a fleet of autonomous sidewalk robots, we deliver hot food from on-campus and local restaurants to Santa Clara University students in under 15 minutes — at a fraction of the cost of legacy delivery platforms. We're a small, ambitious team building the future of campus logistics from the ground up.

The Role

We're looking for our Head of Operations to own the day-to-day reality of getting food from kitchen to dorm. This is a high-ownership, high-autonomy role reporting directly to the Founder. You'll be the person who makes sure the fleet rolls, the orders flow, and the team moves — every day, on time, on standard. If something is broken at 11 PM, you're the first call. If something is working at 2 PM, it's because you set it up that way.

What you'll do

Own end-to-end delivery operations across the Crumb fleet, from order placement to doorstep handoff
Build and manage a roster of Remote Operations Specialists and First-Mile Coordinators, including scheduling, onboarding, and performance
Develop the operational runbook: SOPs for every step of the delivery lifecycle, escalation paths, and incident response
Monitor fleet health (battery, connectivity, mechanical) and coordinate maintenance and recovery
Partner with Engineering to surface recurring issues from the field and prioritize fixes
Establish KPIs for delivery reliability, average dispatch time, and uptime — and hit them
Be the operational point of contact during operating hours

Requirements

0+ years of experience in operations, logistics, or "just getting things done" at any scale
Demonstrated reliability under pressure (real examples preferred — group projects do not count)
Comfort with ambiguity and a strong bias toward action
Excellent written and verbal communication
Willingness to be physically present on campus during operating hours
A working phone that you actually answer

Nice to have

Prior experience managing peers
Familiarity with logistics or robotics
Calm demeanor when a robot is wedged in a hedge
