Head of Strategic Partnerships

Santa Clara, CA · HybridFull-time

About Crumb

Crumb is building autonomous food delivery infrastructure for college campuses, starting at Santa Clara University. We work with on-campus dining providers, local restaurants, and university administration to bring fast, affordable, robot-powered delivery to students. Our partnerships are the foundation of everything we do.

The Role

We're looking for our Head of Strategic Partnerships to own the relationships that make Crumb possible. You'll be the public face of Crumb in conversations with Santa Clara University administration, Bon Appétit Management Company, local restaurant operators, and prospective grant partners. This is a senior, externally-facing role reporting directly to the Founder. You'll represent Crumb in rooms where reputation is built or broken in a single meeting.

What you'll do

  • Develop and manage Crumb's relationship with SCU administration, including dining services, facilities, and student affairs
  • Lead institutional partnership conversations with Bon Appétit and other on-campus dining providers
  • Identify, pitch, and onboard new restaurant partners across the Santa Clara area
  • Draft and negotiate partnership agreements, MOUs, and pilot proposals
  • Identify and pursue institutional grant opportunities (university innovation funds, sustainability grants, research grants)
  • Represent Crumb at university events, industry mixers, and stakeholder meetings
  • Build and maintain a CRM of every relationship that matters

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort in professional and institutional settings (you have, at minimum, business casual)
  • Ability to draft a clear, professional email without prompting
  • Discretion and judgment around sensitive conversations
  • Genuine interest in food, robotics, or both

Nice to have

  • Existing relationships within SCU administration or dining services
  • Prior experience in business development, university student government, or institutional fundraising
  • A LinkedIn profile that has been updated within the last 12 months
  • Knows where the Provost's office is

Benefits

  • Competitive equity in a pre-pre-pre-seed startup
  • Title that opens doors (literally — administrators take it more seriously than you'd think)
  • Generous expense account (capped at the price of one coffee per meeting)
  • Free Crumb deliveries
  • Direct access to the Founder
  • Snacks (variable)
