About Crumb
Crumb is the future of campus food delivery — autonomous robots, hot food, zero tipping anxiety. We're scaling our fleet across Santa Clara University and we need world-class teleoperators to keep it rolling.
The Role
As a Remote Operations Specialist, you'll be the human in the loop when our autonomy stack hits its limits. When a bot encounters an edge case it can't resolve — an unexpected obstacle, a confusing crosswalk, a wedged wheel — you'll take over remotely, guide the bot through, and hand control back to autonomy. Think of yourself as air traffic control, but for very small ground vehicles. Reports to the Head of Operations.
What you'll do
- Monitor active bot deliveries during your assigned shifts via the Crumb fleet dashboard
- Take remote control of bots when intervention is required
- Issue waypoint corrections, manual nudges, and emergency stops as needed
- Log incidents and edge cases for the Engineering team to learn from
- Maintain situational awareness across multiple concurrent deliveries (eventually)
- Stay calm when the bot is doing something stupid
